Ground Zero for Climate Science

I am sorry, I have been so busy lately that I have neglected RSN. Looking in I think of how much I must catch up on - if possible.

I am struck lately by the hurricane, and the impact on our grandest city; New York. If ever there was a wakeup call, that science, or climate science to be specific was right and the politics were wrong, its name is Sandy. The pattern of flooding was predicted, including the flooding of Ground Zero related to the melting of the glaciers and our relentless habit of burning of fossil fuel in the atmosphere.

There is no more urgent need for all of our collective talent, skill and strength than solving this perplexing problem. Will we strike out into an unknown future or burn in the hell of our own making? I hope to be around to see this issue resolved in spite of the deadly influence of ignorance, money and power being directed to make this honest concern into a naive fantasy.
