South Carolina Lawmakers Should Introduce 'Right to Live' bill

It's time to take control of the political messaging Republicans have dominated in order to get policy through the government, hurting the majority of America.

And what a great way to start by asking any South Carolina lawmaker to introduce "Right to Live" legislation.

There's a catch, though. Republicans might not like it.

You see, Tim Scott is sponsoring legislation to hamper unions. He doesn't care about your right to live.

That's a bit harsh, you may say. Well, sadly it is true.

In union contracts, there are stipulations giving you the right to live on the job. Specifically, ArcelorMittal - USA and the United Steelworkers have a great program. If there is any chance a job becomes unsafe - or looks as if it would - workers have the right to stop the work until the unsafe issues are fully resolved. Employees have been issued a "stop-work" card to pull in front of fellow workers and supervisors.

Instead of Republicans being so worried about unions, why don't they develop laws that protect workers' lives on the job at nonunion plants.

It seems to me the more and more Republicans come out against unions, the more they show they are against your right to live - and return home safe to your family.
