Nominating presidential candidates

I have a suggestion about how to nominate presidential candidates in the future. Have all the presidential candidates on stage at one time to participate in a series of debates similar to this year’s GOP debates. ALL the candidates, GOP, Democratic and independent. Then after the first three debates or some such number, each network, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC and FOX gets to select a presidential candidate. Then that candidate drops out of the debates which continue until each network has a candidate. At that point, the debates are over, and the general election begins.

There are no primaries because the primaries are unfair, allowing only a few voters to choose the candidates the rest of us must vote among. More than one candidate per party would be allowed. Each network would campaign exclusively for their selection as FOX and MSNBC do now. If there are any debates during the general election, those debates must include all 6 candidates and appear on all 6 networks. This system could be an improvement on the present system and certainly can’t be any worse.
