Having read: “The Folly of Empire” by Chris Hedges, RSN - Truthdig 15 October-13:
It is amusing to think that even the most un-notable, desperately struggling person in the world actually proves the antithesis of your “folly”, every second they dare to hope and struggle –and of course not having the discretionary time to contemplate their own “folly”. This opposite is that, even as blunt of an instrument as Man is, he actually cannot help but progress.

Those with more time on their hands tend to find the patterns of failure that exist as diminishing the importance of the resplendent failures to progress. Those prognostications of doom and history re-fail are similar to expecting failure from someone with scars. Healing, learning, and hope to action are the harbingers of the seek-able. It is true that body upon body stack from stupidity, corruption, self-aggrandizement and abuse; however, the actual clearest pattern is that the doomsayers throughout time have always been wrong beyond their culture. It is part and parcel of frustration to kick what you know. It is another universe to use the same energy to see beyond and act otherwise. Counter-intuitively, that universe finds “folly” as actually the parent of hope.

Admittedly, with the absurdity of what we aggrandize and tolerate, a new actionable perspective is a seemingly impossible pair of pants to get on for the trip. In other, for all these, words, those who simply cannot “know better” will likely inherit the better part of the world. Bravo to those who move us forward, hurt less life and remain forever unknown.
